Depending on how many pounds your dog is will determine how much meat protein to feed them. For a small dog, 10-15 pounds about 3 tablespoons of meat and for a larger dog like Sonnie who weighed 90 pounds, I would give him a pound to a pound 1/2 once a day. He would get his smoothie in the am and 1 or two wholefood snacks during the day. The meal timing is also important. He would get his heavier main meal between noon and 2pm then a little meal at around 5pm. Feeding their meals at the high of their metabolism makes for easier digestibility.
Recipe: Raw Veggie and Meat Medley for Dogs Ingredients:
1/2 pound raw meat (such as rabbit, bison, or chicken), ground or finely chopped. I would recommend wild game meats. 1/4 cup finely grated carrots, 1/4 cup finely grated zucchini, finely grated celery stick, 1 tablespoon cold pressed hempseed oil (or raw coconut oil or extra virgin olive oil) for omega-3 fatty acid. Add digestive enzymes micro-blended with algae to aid in the breakdown of proteins, fats, fiber so its gets ab
Instructions:
Start by ensuring that all the ingredients are fresh and suitable for raw consumption. Wash and prepare the vegetables by finely grating them. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground or finely chopped raw meat with the grated carrots, zucchini and celery. Add the essential fatty acid oil of your choice to the mixture. These oils are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are beneficial for your dog's skin, coat, and overall health. For additional support add digestive enzymes micro-blended with algae to aid in breaking down of their proteins, fiber, carbohydrates and fats so its absorbed into their cellular wall as energy and for the final step to make this meal completely balanced with vitamins, minerals and amino acids, add the superfood microorganic algae.
Another option is to lightly steam the meat just a little (still leaving more raw), remove from pan then add veggies and oil.
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly until well combined. Divide the mixture into appropriate portions based on your dog's size, age, and activity level. You can shape the mixture into small patties or serve it as a loose mixture. Serve the raw veggie and meat medley to your dog. Ensure that it is at a safe and comfortable eating temperature. Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use them within a few days.
Note: Raw feeding requires careful consideration and research. Don't hesitate to ask me any questions you have to help provide you with guidance specific to your dog's individual needs, ensure proper balance of nutrients, and address any concerns or risks associated with raw feeding.
